# KwikEat Merchant: getting started

> What KwikEat Merchant is, creating an account, registering your shop, and finding your way in the portal.

**KwikEat Merchant** is the web portal for your **online shop**, at [merchant.kwikeat.com](https://merchant.kwikeat.com). There you manage the web shop's menu, receive and handle online orders, set up online payments, and decide who works for your shop.

Merchant is **not a till**: taking orders at the counter or on the phone, taking cash and card payments and counting the cash is done in [KwikEat Desktop](https://kwikeat.com/manual/welkom). ## An account and a shop

1. Go to merchant.kwikeat.com and choose **Register**. Enter your e-mail address and a password.
2. You get an e-mail: confirm your address with the link.
3. Log in and choose **Register your shop**: the shop's name, country and address. The country sets the currency, the VAT rates and how addresses are written.
4. The rest (opening hours, delivery, online payment, printing) you set up afterwards in [Settings](https://kwikeat.com/manual/merchant-instellingen).

One account can belong to several shops: owner of one, crew or courier at another. See [People and roles](https://kwikeat.com/manual/merchant-medewerkers).

## Finding your way

The parts are at the top, as in KwikEat Desktop. Which ones you see depends on your [role](https://kwikeat.com/manual/merchant-medewerkers):

The browser has the same function keys as Desktop (`F1` Orders, and so on), except `F5`: that refreshes the page, as always in a browser.

Choose the portal's language at the top right.
