# Online orders

> The order board in KwikEat Merchant: new online orders, the status for the customer, changing, cancelling and refunding.

Under **Orders** (`F1`) are your web shop's online orders, in the same columns as KwikEat Desktop: **New**, **In the kitchen**, **Ready**, **On the way**. A new order arrives with a sound (set in Settings → Ordering → Notifications).

Orders paid online appear only once the payment is confirmed.

## The status

Move an order on when the kitchen starts, when it is ready, and when it is on the way. The customer sees the status online, and (if switched on) gets an order confirmation by e-mail.

An order paid at the door or the counter is settled when it is delivered or picked up.

## Changing and cancelling

- **Change** works until the order is picked up or delivered. If it was paid and the total changes, you see the difference: *to pay* or *to refund*.
- **Cancel** always comes with a **reason**. The order is not deleted: it doesn't count in the takings and stays in the [journal](https://kwikeat.com/manual/orderjournaal).

## Refunding

If an order was **paid online** (through Stripe), refund it with **Pay back now** when cancelling, or when settling a lower total. The money goes back to the customer through Stripe, on the same payment. KwikEat only records it once Stripe has accepted it.

## Printing

Receipts and kitchen tickets are printed by the [Print Connector](https://kwikeat.com/manual/print-connector) on a printer in the shop, or by KwikEat Desktop when it is linked.

## With KwikEat Desktop

When the shop is linked to KwikEat Desktop, orders are moved on, changed and cancelled **in Desktop**. The portal shows them and reflects what Desktop does at once, but you can't change them here.
